Featuring Steve Douglas, Stacy Kilpatrick

Featuring Steve Douglas, Stacy Kilpatrick Starry Crown Dub Sound System was formed by Stacy Kilpatrick and Steve Douglas to take the aesthetics of authentic, traditional dub reggae into the 21st century, by utilising the modern tools at hand. A debut full length CD of original tracks is currently being recorded in Raku Recording in Daylesford Victoria.

An arsenal of analogue synthesisers, old school samplers and analogue drum machines, (all triggered live and altered with filters and FX) provide a loop based background over which they perform live tenor saxophone, melodica, trumpet, guitar, and harmony vocals. No dub would be complete without thundering bass, so they have recruited long time friend and collaborator Nick Thorpe (of Melbourne’s Prayer Babies) to bring the bottom end on fretless electric bass and bass harmonica.

After debuting this year at Couch at Perfect Drop, Starry Crown has also performed at the Chillout Festival, the acclaimed DMT Winter Warmup, and is now ready to bring the backbeat to BOUNCE!
